2011 NIHDC DRIVING CLINIC CANCELED
CLINICIAN: Phillip Odden
Phillip Odden and his wife, Else, live on a farm in NW Wisconsin. They are engaged in building traditional Norwegian furniture, wood carving as well as raising and training horses. Phil's experience with horses started as a youngster growing up on a Wisconsin dairy farm. He has since become very involved with Norwegian Fjord horses and has served as the chairman of the NFHR Evaluation committee. Phil, a very successful driver, is well known in the CDE and Pleasure Driving shows. He has won many honors with horses he has trained and las October drove his Fjord pair in the ADS Driving Derby demonstrations during the World Equestrian Games held in Lexington last October. Phil"s goal is to produce a calm, relaxed, trusting and safe driving horse. Phil believes that a horse needs to learn to stand well before it starts to walk and walk well before it trots. He works to build a trust and respect relationship with his horses starting with good ground manners, consistent discipline and quality work. We are sure that Phil will provide new information and usable aids to achieving your driving goals.
